TONY HARRISON Britain's leading theatre and film poet, reads Owen's 'Strange Meeting' in the film, Wilfred. He writes for the National Theatre, the New York Metropolitan Opera, BBC Television and Channel Four. His DRAMATIC VERSE 1973 - 1985 (Bloodaxe Books, 1985) includes V, and verse drama, opera librettos and music theatre and war poetry. He has won several major awards for his works, including the William Heinemann prize in 1996 for THE SHADOW OF HIROSHIMA AND OTHER FILM/POEMS. THE MYSTERIES (1985) his adaptation of the English Mystery plays. His Film and Television work includes the BBC series IN LOVING MEMORY (1987) and THE DAISIES FOR THE BRIDE (1993), which won the Prix Italia in 1994. 1999 saw the release of Tony's poetic film PROMETHEUS. A new volume of poems, LAUREATE'S BLOCK AND OTHER OCCASIONAL POEMS was published in February 2000 by Penguin.
